Restylane and Perlane are Non Animal Stabilized hyaluronic acid. They are sterile gels which are gently injected under the surface of the skin to correct facial lines, wrinkles and folds, enhance lips and shape facial contours including cheekbones.

Hyaluronic acid occurs naturally in the body. The function of hyaluronic acid is to keep the skin smooth and elastic. Restylane and Perlane work by replenishing the hyaluronic acid that has been depleted with age. Because the products are so similar to naturally occurring hyaluronic acid there is no need to have a skin test prior to treatment.

The gel is gently injected under the surface of the skin giving an immediate effect. As the gel slowly breaks down over time, water takes its place. The less concentrated the gel becomes, the more water it is able to bind. This is the main reason the effect of treatment lasts so long.

The treatment takes approximately 15-20 minutes and results last about 6 months up to 1 year.
